First day in

11 a.m. I’am waking up from a long nights sleep. Finally! For the first time in my exchange I could actually sleep as long as I wanted to. Nothing was planned for today so I knew i could finally relax. So I just lay there doing nothing and watching netflix till 1 o’clock arrives and I decide to go to the gym, eating my lunch on the way. Training was fun I really achieved a lot but there was one exercise that totally wrecked me. After the gym I went to the pool for a little, listening to some music. After that I was back to netflix. Then Roger asked me if I wanted to go to the gas station with him to get gas for our trip tomorrow. So I did and bought two bottles of ice tea on the way. One Arizona and one Peace Tea. Afterwards dinnertime arrived and Hazel wasn’t in the mood for cooking so we bought pizza and it was delicious. The day slowly fades and I just finished the 6th season of Orange is the new black, which made me really sad. Hazel and I might play some game tonight and then I’ll go to sleep early.

Football game

Today was an exciting day. First I started out school very tired so I slept just until the lesson began. After that in second period we had an A.L.I.C.E drill, that showed us what to do in case of a school shooting. This freaked me out, but the rest of the lesson was pretty chill because we had assignments for the last hour but I finished after 20 minutes. Nothing to major happenend the rest of the school day except for teaching and me sleeping. Coming home I was awfully tired but I forced myself to go to the gym. After the training was done I felt better and wasn’t tired anymore. After supper a friend picked me up so we could watch the opening football game of our high school. GO PANTHERS! Unfortunately, they did pretty bad and lost 21-0. After the game we went to Wendy’s to get frosties and fries, which is basically ice cream with fries. I know it sounds bad but it was actually delicious. Now I can finally go to sleep and sleep in for the first time in my exchange.

Rotary social

Today was a pretty packed day. First school was pretty fun, we wrote a test in Geometry and Panther Hour was fun for the first time even though I was just listening to music. Then today was the first time in my sports classes that I sweated. After school and a little refreshing in the pool I went straight to making my recipe, which actually took quite a while. So when I finished I only had a little time to take a quick nap before we went to the rotary meeting. The rotary meeting was awsome, the people there were super nice and the food was just delicious but as always I ate too much. As we arrived home it was already so late that I went straight to bed.

Shot

Today was a pretty normal day , I went to school. During sports lessons we got our lockers issued, which took me about 10 minutes and the rest of the lesson we played „volleyball“ but somehow nobody knows how to play so it was just trying to serve, picking up the ball, repeat. For 1 and a half hours. Lunch was fun though, they talked about anime club and I’m thinking about joining it. The teachers are getting ready to writing the first few tests. Roger picked me up after school to get a vaccination I had to get to stay in school. It took us 1.5 hours but the actual shot took about 10 seconds. Afterwards we went grocerie shopping, which was complicated because some of the items I needed for my recipe weren’t available so I had to improvise. As we finally got home it was almost time for dinner, which we then shortly after had. Then I hit the gym with big motivation because I knew there were my freshly arrived clothes waiting for me. It’s two red pants, 3 pairs of socks and one white shirt with parrots on it.

Routine begins

Today was a pretty scheduled day and it‘s starting to get routine. Wake up at 6:00, make breakfast, go to the bus at 6:40. Get a little sleep before school starts and then stay there ‘till 14:40. But school was a new experience because today was the first time we actually did something in PE and Weightlifting. After school I went to the gym, then I went into the pool for a little until supper was already starting. My exchange students asked if I wanted to go to the movies with them and I did. It was fun and the movie (The Meg) was pretty good. Afterwards it was already time to sleep and so I did!

School Week 2

It’s monday again and I didn’t have a lot of sleep, so waking up at 6 in the morning was pretty hard and I was tired almost all the way through school. Still, school was fun today because I met some new people during lunch and they were very funny. I was also excited to finally have my first real sports lesson but no the locks didn’t arrive on time so it was another one and a half hours of doing nothing. English was fun too but the day was not to eventful. After school I was doing homework since my math teachers decided that only with a lot of practice you can really achieve something. I can’t just bail on it because they grade it. Then as every weekday I wanted to hit the gym but the weather said no. I might be able to go after supper (meatloaf) but we’ll see.

Last day of the orientation

So exactly like the day before we had to get up at 7 a.m and then went to breakfast. We wrapped up the whole weekend and then split up into our districts to go over news and upcoming events. We took a photo of all the exchange students (58 in total) with a couple of flags. Later on we had lunch and started leaving. The trip home was awsome even though I had to sit in the back. Volk and I were driving with Ed, who has got a blue Mustang and he showed us how 300+ PS could accelerate. We talked a lot about different topics and I had a lot of fun. He even let us take picture with his car. So thank you Ed for the ride home I really enjoyed it!

The rest of the day I spent catching up with my host family and I was trying to teach Hazel Watten. Now I’m sitting here at 10 p.m. thinking about going to wake up at 6 a.m. tomorrow knowing I will be just super sleepy all day.

Orientation Day 2

So today was a long day. We woke up at 7 a.m. and after breakfast the first session about the most important thing on our exchange. We split up in 6 groups and I was a Gator. After our lunch they presented the 3 tours that we could take: Hawaii, West Coast or New York/Philly/Washington D.C.. They all sounded amazing and I would love to do all three but they’re very expensive so I might just go to West Coast and possibly New York or Hawaii. Afterwards we split up into our groups to prepare skits that we had to present after dinner. The rest of the day was fun, I met lots of new people, got a lot of pins and had way too much to eat.

Orientation Day 1

Today was my second Panther Hour and it was bad because I was wandering aroung for 30 min to finally end up in Yearbook, but I didn’t want to join them so I just sat there on my phone. But I’ll think Panther Hour will get more organized over the weeks and then it’ll be more fun. Still it was fine because I got out of school 40 min early to go to the inbound orientation in Lake Yale. I slept the whole drive and after we arrived and ate (food wasn’t too good), we gathered and suddenly they all started dancing. Then some Rotarians introduced us to the topics they were going to cover over the weekend. After that we were released for the night to socialize.

Panther Hour

Today was the first time Panther Hour happenend in school. It’s basically a free hour for students to join clubs or go reading. The latter I did. On top of that I had my first culinary class today, which was just about reading about hospitality and talking about all kinds of jobs. Since Panter Hour happens Thursday and Friday, we have 4 courses each day instead of 7 (4th period twice) but they are like super long. But that was fine since after lunch I had my two sports classes and since we’re not allowed to do anything, I used the time watching Netflix. This was my first day riding the school bus and it’s a fun experience but the seats are so small even my legs don’t fit. Then at home I did my usual Workout and did laundry for the first time. For supper we had huge porkchops with mashed potatoes and carrots. After that me and Hazel played our 2nd round of Yahtzee and this time I beat her by far.
