Today was quite a weird day. It was PSAT testing today so the schedule was screwed up. Some classes were 80 minutes other only 30. Both my sports classes were watching movies. In math we revised our tests and I made my first mistake in this class. No perfect score anymore! All that just because I can’t read and just overlooked a number. When I got home I went to my workout quickly. It was good although I felt kind of sick during the workout. I might get sick the next couple days. Then I had a big supper containing meat and pizza and ice cream for dessert. I also talked to Hazel a little and just realized a lot of things that gave me new strength for my exchange. But I’m going to bed early today because I’m super tired all day.
Work to do
So today was quite full of work for me to do. I had to turn in my papers for baseball, turns out he needs even more. I had to make up work in History. I will start as an assistant coach for the girls weightlifting team in a couple days/ weeks. I had to take a Math quiz but it was only 15 minutes long so that was ok. Then I got home and quickly went to my workout because I thought I had to cook. By the time I returned they told me I didn’t have to cook. I have to fill out some forms for my trips, and I am currently thinking about starting to study, while I’m still here since I have a lot of free time.
Rotary presentations
School was exciting today. I only had my first and fourth period, because during the other ones, we were part of a Rotary Youth Exchange presentation in our school. I was the same every time but still it was fun. Also it was picture day today and I can already tell that i look horrible in those picture. The rest of the day was relatively quiet, I had an amazing workout but now my arms are super sore. I washed clothes and I have to finish some assignments. So all in all a solid day
Social in Tarpon Springs
At 10 today Doug picked me up so we could go to a gathering of the exchange students in Tarpon Springs. We arrived a little late but that was ok. Tarpon Springs is famous for its sponges and it‘s got a greek flair, which was cool. So we went on a boat ride to watch someone dive to farm a sponge and get infos on the sponges and their industry. Afterwards we had a little time to go shopping and I‘ve bought some jawbreakers, a shirt and a key chain. Then we went back to a locals house and relaxed in their pool a little. They gave us asian food for dinner and it was delicious. But we‘re heading back early since we have school tomorrow.
Planting trees and „bike tour“
I had to get up early today, so we could go plant trees. As we arrived I was only able to move some trees to their position before they told me I have to go help them with their „bike tour“ promo video. So we went to 3 different locations around the county (by car) to then ride about 500 feet each time to get some good shots for the video. It was okay I guess and we had Subway, which was delicious. After I got home I relaxed a little before I went to the gym to burn about 1900 calories. A woman told me my treadmill was broken, because it was too loud. Turns out it is just what they do when you hit a certain speed. We had pizza for supper, but I’m going to bed early since I’m super tired and I have to get up kind of early again tomorrow.
Fridyay
Finally Friday! School was ok today, I had a lot of fun in my first two classes, will become a tutor in math now and aced my math and history test. For Panther Hour I went to Anime Club, which was funny but we played I game and I didn’t understand like half of it but it was funny. In weightlifting we played Basketball and I had a really cocky player in my team, who almost never passed the ball. English was also fun but not to eventful. I had a great leg workout today and really pushed my limits. The rest of the day was chill as I played some cards and Sodoku.
Almost weekend
Today started out quite boring. The first two periods we didn’t really do anything, then I went to Math Study Hall to at least do something and after that in gym and weightlifting we watched movies. Then I went to my first Interact meeting, which was kind of odd but it might change as I go on. After that I waited for Doug to pick me up for a Rotary presentation for future Outbounds. It was fun since two Rebounds were there and we had fun, also we had dinner afterwards at Wendy‘s, which was great
It’s Wednesday my dudes
Today was a special Wednesday. We went to the Rotary meeting and the speaker today was the district governor, plus the meeting was longer than usual. Then I noticed that I left my bag at home so we had to get that and I missed almost two classes of school, which was nice. Then one of my friends send me a funny video, which really made my day. After school I had a really long talk with my brother that really helped me grasp some of the difficulties of an exchange and how to overcome them. Then I had quite a good workout, I think I can finally start seeing results, also I met a guy from Netherlands, who was nice. In the evening then I played cards with my host mom and now I’m going to bed.
Tuesdays
This tuesday was a pretty average tuesday. I finished my math test early so I started working on homework. I got my culinary assignments for the next weeks done. After school I went for a double workout, because I can’t go on Thursday. It was quite hard, even harder regarding I hardly ate the last couple days.
Monday mood
So today was a very mondayee monday. School was boring as heck and we wrote two tests. Afterwards I got to chill for a couple hours before the Rotary Social. It was fun but it was quite long and now we’re left with lots and lots of food and drinks.
